CYBER-FRAUD ALERT
We have taken the precaution of removing the names of the Sheriff’s Office administrators due to a rise in fraudulent activities where scammers are impersonating officials from our office to deceive citizens. These individuals exploit public information to obtain the names of our employees, which they then use to mislead victims. They often present various fabricated scenarios, suggesting that a deputy has issued a warrant for your arrest, and demand payment via phone using gift cards or cryptocurrency to prevent arrest. Please be advised that the Sheriff’s Office will never initiate contact via phone, nor will it request any form of payment over the phone.
If you have arrived at this notice after receiving a call from someone purporting to be a deputy from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, we urge you to reach out to our main office at 615-444-1412 and select option 0. Our dispatchers are available to connect you with the individual these scammers are impersonating and can verify whether any legitimate contact has been made. It is important to refrain from using any alternative methods to confirm the identity of callers claiming to represent our office.
